Pros and Cons of the Altra Lone Peak 7
A review wouldn’t be a review without a list of the good, the bad, and the ugly – we did however struggle to come up with many negatives that could actually be billed as genuine negatives.
Pros:
- Wide toe box: The Lone Peak 7 has a wide toe box that allows your toes to spread naturally. This helps to prevent toe cramps and blisters.
- MaxTrac™ outsole: The MaxTrac™ outsole is made of durable rubber and has aggressive lugs that provide excellent traction on a variety of terrain, including mud, rocks, and roots.
- Zero-drop design: The Lone Peak 7 has a zero-drop heel-to-toe drop, which means that the heel and forefoot are the same height. This promotes a more natural running gait and helps to reduce impact on the knees and hips.
- Altra EGO™ midsole: The Altra EGO™ midsole is lightweight and responsive, providing a comfortable and cushioned ride.
- Durable upper: The upper of the Lone Peak 7 is made of a breathable mesh that helps to keep your feet cool and dry. It is also reinforced in key areas for durability.
These shoes are great for a variety of terrain including technical trails as well as being lightweight and breathable.
Cons:
- May not be ideal for runners with narrow feet
- Not waterproof
- They don’t like sloppy mud but which shoes do?
Not being waterproof is really not that much of an issue. If you want a waterproof shoe, you are better off choosing one of the many GTX trail running shoes available however, be warned that these particular shoes are not designed to let the water out just as they are not designed to let it in so if your feet get sweaty, they may not be entirely comfortable.
The MaxTrac™ outsole and Altra EGO™ midsole work together to provide a versatile and comfortable trail running experience.
With streamlined construction, stay nimble and confident on any terrain.
